The Team

Robert Bakiika (Mr.)

Mr. Bakiika it the Deputy Executive Director of EMLI and the New York Main Representative to United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). Robert is a Scientist and Forestry graduate from Makerere University. Robert devotes part of his time to Science-Policy interface thus influencing national, regional and global policy agenda. He serves on a number of national committees and panels in the field of climate change, environment and natural resources. Currently, he serves at the National Climate Change Policy Advisory Committee for Uganda and the National Projects Development Coordination Committee. He has worked on a number of public policy issues such as: Financing for Climate Change and Environment and Natural Resources, Climate Justice, Livelihoods and Environmental Governance. He has written various educative and informative scholary materials on climate change, environment and natural resources, at national, regional and international level. Telephone: +256 782 643315

Grace Nakanwagi (Ms.)

Ms. Nakanwagi is the Senior Accounts and Administrative Officer of EMLI . She is a candidate of CPA and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics Degree from Makerere University. Grace has gained unparalleled skills in Financial Accounting, Spreadsheet Modelling and Accounting Information systems (AIS) Designing and Administarion. Grace has worked on a number of projects implemented by EMLI in partnership with different donors and has obtained knowledge of working to meet specific donor requirements ranging from Oxfam GB, The French Emabssy, ActionAid International in Uganda, The GEF Small Grants Program, United Nations Development Program, The Open Society Initiative for Eastern Africa, National Environmental Management Authority. Jaliah Namubiru (Ms.)

Ms. Namubiru is the Programmes Officer supporting all the five core programmes at EMLI. She is a social worker in PGD holder (Social sciences) and Diploma in Project Management with over 6 years of experience in multi-stakeholder engagements and working with communities and sectors in specific adaptation actions.She has contributed to a number of EMLI studies both at local and national levels such as Developing the Climate Change Adaptation Training Manual led by EMLI and WWF UCO among others. She is the organization's focal point to the Environment and Natural Resources Civil Society Network and Climate Action Netwotk Ugandan where she represents the organization in various program and project implementaton engagements. Christine Mbatuusa (Ms.)

Ms. Mbatuusa is the programme/Interim Monitoring and Evaluation oficer at EMLI supporting the Climate Change  and Evironmental Governance programme. She is an Economist with a Bachelors Degree of Arts in Econoics from Makerere University. She has experience in financing for development, targeting environment and climate change. She has contributed to a number of EMLI studies through collecting both qualitative and quantitative data such as; Tracking Climate Adaptation Financing in Uganda by EMLI and CARE Uganda and Domestic Adaptation Financing in Uganda led by EMLI and WWF-UCO. She is the designated organizational's focal point to the Uganda Green Economy Network, where she coordinates CSOs views and provides technical advice. Telephone: +256 705 532516

Hadad Kavuma (Mr.)

Mr. Kavuma is the Projects Ofiicer of EMLI. He holds a Diploma in Industrial Chemistry from the former Uganda Polytechnic Kyambogo now Kyambogo University. He also holds a Diploma from Flight Operations from Eastern Institute of Aeronautical studies. Hadad is the lead co-ordinator for all EMLI-Membership partners. He is the focl point of CSCO Network and current secretary of the Uganda Climate Change Champions Network. He volunteers for the chemicals and waste programme at EMLI. Telephone: + 256 705 194240


 Emmanuel M. Kyeyune (Mr.)

Mr. Kyeyune is the Communications officer at EMLI. He is an Information Systems Analyst from Makerere University.  Kyeyune is quite versatile in a number of Computer Aided systems and skills programs. He's also a Cisco Certified Network Associate proffesional student from Makerere Univeristy and brings his Information Technology basics and skills to the team which has also helped him to improve on his skills and work experience. He has also been part of the organization's programme and project implemetntation such as Training on Sustainable Charcoal Journalism for Media Practitioners among others. Sharon Ndagire (Ms.)
